I feel like, speaking of PR, I feel like matrescence needs, it obviously needs better PR for many reasons.
But one of the things I think of as interesting is that
we look at adolescence as a difficult time that creates this amazing adult and you become this, the narrative at least is like, what a wonderful adult.
Now this is a great thing.
You've gone through it and you've got your life to live ahead of you.
Whereas a lot of the things we talk about,
today acutely sound extremely challenging, but it also feels like there is an opportunity to change into the next version of yourself that is this brilliant woman who can take on the next part of life in a way that your previous self couldn't.
And it kind of feels like there needs to be a celebration of matrescence rather than it's all doom and gloom.
Yeah, there's also that phrase of like, I mean, I hear it,
I must admit I hear it more about the body of like I want to get back to pre-baby weight or something like that.
But I feel like there's a narrative of like I just got to get through this and get back to what I was so I can- Back to the job or back to whatever.
Yeah, back.
It's always looking backwards.
And that feels like it needs a fundamental re-branding as well.
Yeah, but you also have to do a lot of stuff you don't want to do.
Whoa.
society told me maybe i just drank this kool-aid it's in my dna this is what i believe this is what i was told yeah one of the things that i that has occurred to me and i feel like i'm getting into dangerous territory here and it's just occurred to me so hopefully this comes out right and i'm not offending anyone you're in a safe space thank you but i feel like there is a movement quite rightly of
for women to be able to do it all.
And there's a movement of independence.
You can be an independent person.
