And so that's all kind of background to where I was when I wrote this book.

What a reveal.
Yeah.
I'm actually, yeah, Alain de Botton.
And which will, I think, explain a bit.
But what really surprised me
in rereading this book is the fact that I actually saw myself in Marcel Proust.
And I mean that not in a grand way, because the way that I saw myself was all his failings.
So Marcel Proust was incredibly, as you learn about in this book, incredibly fragile and neurotic.
He was
had sort of perpetual feelings of being misunderstood and a failure whose opinions no one liked.
He had chronic asthma.
He could only eat one meal a day, eight hours before bed, or he just couldn't sleep.
He had such sensitive skin that he had to use 20 towels after a shower to wash himself, to dry himself.
He had fears of mice.
He was always cold.
He had coughing fits.
He had gut issues, sensitivity to any noise.
