So one of the great joys I have with this job is I get to write people's bios.

And I thoroughly enjoyed writing this, Joe, I have to say.

I've never done this before, but I read it to my six-year-old daughter yesterday just to get her thoughts on it.

And she said, it's pretty boring.

So it didn't pass Elsie's test, but hopefully it worked.

So here we go.

So in seven-minute installments, Joe Brum is responsible for the laughter and joy of millions of people around the world.

As the number one streamed television series of all time, in 2025, Bluey was watched in the US for a total of 45.2 billion minutes.

Growing up in Queensland, Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Animation in 1998 before spending over 10 years in the UK working as a lead animator on successful children's shows such as Charlie and Lola and Peppa Pig.

In 2009, after moving back to Brisbane and founding his own animation studio, Studio Joho, Joe began assembling his own team.

In 2016, The Pile of Bluey was launched.

Two years later, Bluey premiered on the ABC.

When Bluey first appeared on our screens, most of us thought it was a show for kids.

But we didn't realise that it was also quietly becoming a show for mums and dads.

A show that would make exhausted parents feel seen.

A show that would reassure us that we're not ruining our children every time

We get it wrong.

A show that would remind us that presence and play matters, whilst reminding us that this time in our lives is precious and fleeting.

All over the world, there are parents who are a little more playful, a little more patient, and a little more connected to their children because of something that you have created, Jo.
