Yeah, s biotech the biotech has fundamentally early stage biotech has in my personal opinion, and this is my personal opinion, uh has changed fundamentally, I I would say, in the long term.
And I'm c I personally am not hundred percent sure how it's this is going to evolve.
The old days were well not so, you know well the prior to what's happening now is you have
You know, you have scientists in the lab or you know, scientist plus a good business partner, they they have a they have a interesting technology, they think it's can be commercialized into a drug candidate.
Find a they found a company, they work together, they raise investment, you know, C series, whatever, they find a VC, they raise more money, and then you know, they bring the drug to clinical trials and you know, you exit.
And then, you know, maybe the drug either fails or gets acquired by a pharma.
You know, it's a standard biotech um fundraising lifecycle.
And that's a pretty typical lifecycle also for tech, right?
You know.
Um the issue is biotech is much more capital intensive and uh the time taken to actually bring a drug to market is is actually pretty long.
You know, warp speed showed you it could be faster.
But in general, most situations show that it's actually super
Super fast.
Sorry, super slow.
So there's actually a large more longer waiting game for the biotech scene or just the the the therapeutic or drug med tech industry compared to just regular AI, tech, or whatever.
Mm-hmm.
So in the last three years we've seen the cost of borrowing capital go up.
So that means there's it's harder to get money.
And it's hard, you know, and because the cost of money is high, it's hard to invest.
And given the long time frame and the risk, I think what has changed more for us is also the way early stage biotech is being managed.
