And you're right, it is a different perspective because I work in the building with them right so I'll see them in different areas during the day that other media that work outside of the building for independent broadcast companies.
you know, don't have access to some of those guys.
And not that I use that access, but, you know, you're around them in the lunchroom.
You're around them walking through the hall somewhere or whatever, right?
The presence is just bigger.
And it just depends on the person.
For me, I mean, in the past, I've been really close to players where you become –
tight enough of a relationship where, okay, maybe you do have a dinner or something out like that.
Those are rare, though.
Because of the turnover and everything that comes with it, you just have to really make sure that's a legitimate and a real thing.
I'm not going to go force that with every play.
That's just not... And I do have to keep a certain...
you know, distance because I do have to cover them.
And sometimes if a performance is not up to par, I have to tell people why and what it was.
So, you know, I, and I learned that a long time ago too.
You got to be careful, especially if you're walking around the building with guys and there's critique of players or something's not going well or the team stinks.
You still have to walk down the hall next to that guy the next day.
And I learned that a long time ago when I did minor league baseball, right?
And I was riding on the bus with the players and we're, you know, we're driving 10 hours to the next game for three days.
And it's a Tuesday night game in Mobile, Alabama.
