Yeah I think I think it could be prudent just to make sure that meetings can happen when they're originally scheduled as opposed to having to be moved around a lot.

So I think it's certainly worth looking at.

Yeah, I was going to suggest as an alternative something that's used in a number of cities when there are absences is just a procedure for an excused absence.

I think that really all that is required here in order to save the issue is just that there's a clear disclaimer of whether the individual is speaking in their personal capacity or representing the view of the whole commission.

And as long as that's being satisfied, I think that the language that is here is all up for debate.

Again, I think that the easy solution there is just to change the language so that it doesn't say in their official capacity to speak more to instead the question of whether they purport to speak on behalf of the commission or on behalf of themselves.

And as long as that disclaimer is being made, I don't think there's really any problem.

That seems to be the practice that just about everybody uses.

that if we have a commissioner who is lobbying us, let's say, on a particular topic, especially something that has been considered by that specific commission, that they at least disclaim that they are purporting to speak on behalf of the commission unless they're authorized to do so.
