It will probably sound similar.
Um Square Hearts is about how the heart has many sides, but people have even more, and it follows the story of Nicola Cooper who loses her husband in a tragic car accident two years earlier.
And then her husband's best friend offers her uh her a cottage in North Carolina where she can live, and she gets in some tricky situations.
Her neighbor turns out to be a narcissist.
She gets lessons in lust from her child's violin teacher, and every margarita night gets her closer to her husband's best friend, who's basically a reminder of all that she lost.
But you know, even though Nicola's life is changing so much, it's really not ideal for her neurodivergent daughter, Daisy, who hates change.
But my favorite thing about Square Hearts is it's a second chance love story with a twist, because it was just as important for me to write a love story where the woman falls back in love with herself as much as falling in love with a man.

I felt like that was the right amount of time where maybe um you can start moving on a little bit.
I you know, I have not lost a husband, I've lost both my parents, I've lost friends and family.
Um and I don't think you ever you carry it with you, as you know.
So that is a part of the story and you that's part of her struggle as she's trying to figure out her
Four sides of our heart because her husband says every um every heart has four sides.
It's how the novel begins and it's very beautiful, all his different sides that he thinks a heart has, but then he passes away and she's left with these four sides and trying to figure out how to put them back together again.
Yeah, I would say I have noticed a few other books um that I read just to kind of gain I was like, Oh, ten years seems like what we've all decided was an okay, comfortable readers won't hate us kind of amount of time.
I also think it's hard like when my my mother passed and when my father was started to date.
I think as children you're just it's another grieving kind of stone that you're not ready for where it's like you just kind of accepted that your mother's gone, but then watching the relationship change and having your father kind of begin life again is it's hard.
It's hard as a child, even if it's right for the person.
