So I definitely experienced that as well.
I remember visiting my father.
My father has since passed away, but um and his refrigerator was like hot dogs and cheese and sour cream after my mother died.
And I'm like, I think we gotta do better than this.

Yes, so um I have three neurodivergent daughters who are amazing and I find that
Girls with autism, girls with different type of um neurodivergence are not represented that much in books, and neither is the parenting journey.
The parenting journey is very different, you know.
If I told my kid to eat broccoli when, you know, broccoli's not one of her food choices that's in her little wheelhouse, that just doesn't happen.
Like that's just it's a whole different experience.
So I thought how cool would it be to write a character that really kind of was modeled after my daughters and some other people I know.
I interviewed a variety of children to get Daisy right.
And just to show like how cool her brain is and how creative and even though she like processes things so differently, there's just like these insights that you can get from her and that um
It's okay.
It's okay to be different.
And it's okay that your brain looks at the world different.
So Daisy actually gets five chapters in the book that are just from her point of view that kind of help to round up the story.
And you obviously get Nicola's parenting view of, you know, it's a little different.
Um, there's times where Daisy would doesn't want to be touched.
There's times where Daisy doesn't want to change kind of her habits.
