Last summer, Matas Bezelis was asked to play a lot of on-ball in Summer League.
That's not what they were having him do in the regular season.
They just wanted to use it as a learning experience
This feels like it's going to be a lot more applicable.
And so I think that that's just helpful to kind of get a sense of how he's actually assessing those three players specifically.
Absolutely.
I think he does a great job of articulating kind of what that is, which is that he understands he's not ever going to be a primary initiating guard.
He knows that, at least not right now in this current iteration of the team.
But what the Bulls are trying to have him do is be a secondary playmaker who can pull attention off of Trey or off of Josh when he's on the court with them.
And I think they're really trying to break him out of this situation.

And so they're asking him to think of himself a little bit differently.
It's a really, really important part of getting guys to make a transition successfully.
I think Kobe White is a great example of someone who was always stuck in a push-pull between, okay, what do you want me to be?

So I think that that's what that's about.
They're not asking him to come in and be like PG1, PG2, but they want him to be able
to do more than score when he's in kind of that off-ball secondary guard position.
Yeah, I mean, there's a few things I'm really interested in with Summer League.
I am really interested to see how Noah Essengay looks.
