So in today's story I want to explore the topic of bullying.

And I'm about to bring you really a worst case scenario, just a nightmare situation.

In fact, I should probably start with a bit of a trigger warning.

This episode contains sexual assault and some pretty horrific violence.

So my guest, Tyler Pelkie, him and his friend, they were young, they were fourteen, and they were having a sleepover.

And the school bully showed up at their front doorstep.

There were no parents around, these guys were home by themselves, so they were a little scared, but they let him in.

And this situation unraveled completely.

By the end of the night, Tyler's friend was dead, and Tyler had severe burns to most of his body and was bleeding from his neck.

But he survived.

He survived to tell the story, and years later, like decades later, he actually confronted his bully.
