Now, I don't know what your circumstances are.
It may simply just be a difference in pay.
But for a lot of families, it could be because you've chosen to stay home with the kids.
Maybe you're studying.
Maybe you've chosen to upskill yourself and you haven't aligned in that income yet.
So you need to consider what other value you're doing.
And when we think about finances and families, it's not all finances.
So it's what everyone's contributing to it.
So why would we hold all of our money together?
Why would we hold it in one person's account?
Well, again, the topic of today, it does come down to tax in some ways, is that you're both on different marginal tax rates.
So the after-tax value of your partner's money versus the after-tax value of your money are materially different at $100,000.
So whilst you might feel that, you know, maybe it's not balanced or maybe you don't feel like you should be using his money, from a family perspective or from a household level, getting the structure right and owning assets in your name or in joint names can materially impact the overall growth of your strategy over the years.

What you really want to focus on is the structure of both debts.
Ultimately, utilizing an offset account as early as possible on any mortgage is the best way that you can protect yourself for future decisions.
The reason I say that is if you're contributing money to an offset account, you're not actually paying off the debt.
