So yeah, and the ways in which both trauma and depression can show up in your body are as wide and as varied as the people in the world and the types of experiences that they can have.

So it can get pretty wild actually.

There is sort of like your blanket depression label.

That's probably what people are talking about when they say I'm clinically depressed or, you know, I've had major depressive disorder.

But there's also different kinds of types as well, right?

So there's like persistent sort of low chronic mood, like chronic low mood, something called dysthymia, major depressive disorder.

There's seasonal affective disorder, which is, you know, very...

It's cruelly labeled SAD, sad.

Why do they do it?

The seasonal affective disorder, and that's a real thing.

I wanted to shout out to all the ladies, premenstrual dysphoric disorder is a real thing.

You know, it's something I kind of think I've had my whole life but was just –

you know, pretty much told, oh, yes, we all get a bit cranky before our period.

But yeah, it can be a real thing, like episodes of depression before you get your period, get your period and then, hey, I'm better.

Yeah.

They're usually useful more for

administrative or like bureaucratic processes it's not always necessary I think in therapy or for yourself to know exactly which kind you have they really are just categories I think it's good to be aware that they're a thing right like seasonal affective disorder postpartum depression slash anxiety it's good to know that they're a thing I think that's really important but

You know, we have to create these categories because sort of have to draw the line somewhere.

Yeah.
