They're still able to take their 15 missing assignments and get them all done right before grades are due and they still get an A, right?
And so then their their feedback is this works.
I'm still getting straight A's.
I don't see any reason to do it differently.
And so that's the other piece of it too is, you know, really making sure when those opportunities hit where it does make a difference that we're in there and really, really coaching.
And I like the word coaching.
Mm-hmm.
So I I
You know, I definitely see it.
And it's interesting 'cause with um we think about kind of three main causes t tend to pop up executive functioning, which is, you know, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.
And so, you know, your autism spectrum disorders, you're gonna see a lot more of that flexibility, emotional control, metacognition come up a little heavier, right?
And our ADHD kids is that response, you know, in his
Inhibition, attention, time management, working memory.
So I feel like that work, you know, for me when I kind of see thematically with kids is I I find that most kids that have any kind of executive functioning issues, they also tend to have some sort of emotion regulation issues.
They just go hand in hand.
The kids that I worked with in middle school when I taught that had great executive functioning were not my high
Emotion regulation kids.
And so we see that, you know, that inability to be flexible pops up, and and that becomes, I feel like it comes a lot more apparent in late elementary.
Like if we're still having issues around that, that's gonna be looking really big now in a way that maybe it didn't when kids were younger, or it just people were um more accepting of it when kids were younger, and as they get older.
That shines a little bit more brightly.
