And a lot of times they're not.
And so it's middle school that really hits parents because all of a sudden it's
Like, oh my goodness, they're not, they're really struggling, right?
Because that shift hasn't happened.
And so, and like I'll say to parents, you know, like let's say a kid forgets to take his homework to school, right?
And so parents will come in and it's like, okay, here's a system we're gonna put in place.
And when you go through the checklist of doing their homework at night, they need to say their checklist.
You can't be prompting the checklist.
Because if you're saying the checklist, then you're working.
on your working memory and not their working memory, right?
Mm-hmm.
Really what we want to have happen is it's the kids' working memory.
And so, but I think for parents, we put a lot of pressure, right?
Parents put a lot of pressure on themselves to like make sure their kid shows up and has their homework turned in and, you know, and doesn't kind of allow a little bit of that.
I'm gonna back off.
What kind of routine can we put in place for the child so that they get the cue from their
environment or that routine or that visual that helps prompt them to go, Oh yeah, I need to pay attention to this.
Right.
Right.
Because the example I always use for parents is this because I think it's a good one.
