I don't think it could have been a better year for the game.
Yeah, starting pitching is critical, and it sets up your team for success.
It gives you a chance to win every single night, not only over the course of 162, but then you get in the playoffs, and you're asking starting pitchers to pitch in roles that maybe they're not accustomed to.
And we saw that from the Dodgers with some of the starting pitchers becoming relievers and becoming—
priority relievers and we certainly experienced that in 2023 where guys that have been in our rotation all of a sudden moved to the bullpen and played an integral role in us winning the World Series so you can't have enough starting pitching I've said it time and time again and it's the foundation for success as an organization.
It's a big thing.
I mean, I think you have to get to the postseason and you have to win in the postseason.
And you have to build rosters that can do both.
And winning in the postseason is different than winning in the regular season to some extent.
And having front line starting pitching certainly can achieve both in the regular season and the postseason.
Yeah, and maybe it's like I'm overly competitive and that I just feel like our fans deserve a chance to have a winning team year in, year out, which I fundamentally believe.
in the end it's our job as a front office to do everything we can to support our team provided they put themselves in a position at the deadline to to go finish and compete for a playoff spot the last two years it hasn't worked out in 2023 we made moves that helped us get there but um but yeah this game's about winning and uh that's i'm a competitor i played the game i know that these players don't get to get play the game forever and you know my goal is that anybody that puts on a texas ranger uniform has a chance to compete for a championship and
It's our job to help them do that.
Thank you.
