And what you are doing today is eviscerating the only black majority congressional district in our state because we are majority black.

We are here because this Republican Party has to seek to steal elections and seats because the president and the party have refused to address the pain, the suffering and the struggling of everyday Tennesseans.

Yeah, I think what we have to just recognize with clear eyes what is going on, the white supremacy and the white supremacists have gathered and they have decided that it is time to take black political power as a part of their completion of the civil war that never ended.

We know that the president is a white supremacist and we know that he has significant influence on these Republicans, particularly in the South, to force them to do what he wants for them to do.

But we do have work yet to do.

We have organizing, we've got mobilizing, we've got activating.

There are other states where this is likely to happen in the coming days.

Mississippi, Alabama, we know Florida is working on this.

We need folks to show up at their state capitals to connect with their legislators, particularly Democratic legislators that are going to be fighting.

Because what happened yesterday, as bad of a day as it was, we had thousands of folks from our communities there who took buses and church vans.

We had legislators who stood on top of desks, who took the will of the House floor.

We are showing the resistance that is needed in this moment in time, and we need everybody to be a part of that fight.

There's no sitting on the sidelines.

As some folks have said, Don, you know, if you go back and wonder what you would have done in the 1950s, 1960s, during the height of the Civil Rights Movement, you're doing it right now.

This is the moment in time where we have to fight back, and we have to show our persistence amidst the pain that they're causing.

Absolutely.

It's who he is.

I mean, Donald Trump has been this way his entire life from not allowing black people to live in the apartments that he and his father owned to advocating for the lynching of innocent black and brown kids in Central Park to questioning President Obama's

birth certificate, like this is who this man is.
