But this year, the shear is incredibly strong, and we have this plume of dust.

look that rainy it doesn't uh it's something that we're watching i mean it's going to turn breezy simply due to the pressure gradient as we call it uh there across hawaii you can see the center of the storm winds are 60 miles per hour moving to the west at 14 but again the center of circulation took that jog to the north
And it's somewhat sheared.
So most of the convection, as we say, the shower thunderstorm activity is on the northern side of that circulation.
Hawaii sits on the south side, so they aren't going to look at a whole lot of rain, maybe passing showers and, of course, breezy conditions as the storm passes off.

There's the forecast track from the National Hurricane Center, and you can see the center stays safely away.
It's a weakening system as well.
We're not looking at a strengthening storm where the scope is going to be increasing as well, but certainly kicking up the surf on the north side of the islands.
Of course, Hawaii, a big surf spot there, and we'll be looking at those north-facing beaches dealing with those incredible swells coming in from Fausto there.
You can see that rotary circulation, what we call a pinhole eye.
And typically, when you see a smaller eye, you know you're dealing with an intense storm.
Think of an ice skater.
They bring their arms in, and the rotation is a lot faster.
If you spread your arms out, well, it's a little slower due to just the gravitational pull.
Oh.
Yeah, with this storm, it's incredible to see on the satellite.
