The shear may begin to come back into play along with land interaction as the storm works its way to the west.

Here's the official forecast track as we go over this from the National Hurricane Center.

Again, maintaining tropical storm status, but once it pushes towards the parishes of Louisiana or right along the coastline, which is a marshy terrain there in the southern parishes there.

I think that we're gonna deal with a weakening system uh when it comes to this particular uh storm, Rebecca.

In a weak state like that, I guess I can understand his uh his uh thought process there.

But I think with this particular system, like Hank mentioned, it's really going to come down to the exact track the storm takes when it comes to the intensity of the storm.

If it can maintain that southwesterly course over the warm waters of the Gulf there, there will be some land interaction.

But bear in mind, and Hank's especially

Specialists on this.

That portion of Louisiana is very marshy.

There's a lot of warm water still to deal with.

But if you can keep the center over the warm waters of the Gulf, there is that chance that this could be a little bit of a stronger of a system.

And with the easterly flow, surge could be an issue there in the parishes of Louisiana.

And then we'll have to turn our attention to Texas at this point in time.

The official forecast track uh calling for a depression.

We saw earlier today how the intensity was stronger.

And that's something we still struggle with is the intensity forecast.

The track forecast is excellent these days.

And we've honed in on those uh spaghetti models that Juliana had up a little bit earlier.

And we look at the consensus model, they're in very good agreement somewhere along that Louisiana coast, uh, maybe out over the open waters of the Gulf, uh, is the thinking uh when it comes to the track forecast.
