The warmer waters in the Atlantic are in full swing, and typically we see the lightest wind shear there.
over the main development region as we head into September, August and September.
But this year is going to be a little different.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that El Nino will keep that sheer up.
And as we just saw with the latest model data, we've got a big plume of Saharan dust.
The Saharan air layer is strong out there right now.
And we do love that.
I think that this is looking to be a good hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin.
But let's all stay prepared and let's stay informed.

Yeah, it's it's crazy how things can change in the tropics rapidly and the intensity up to sixty miles per hour right now.
And it's along uh the northern Gulf Coast.
The shear was able to relax just enough to allow the storm to organize enough to intensify.
We it was named last night at eight o'clock, and now the winds are at sixty miles per hour.
Here's a minimum central pressure at uh nine hundred and ninety.
eighty five millibars and the motion northwest at three.
Again, the winds in the upper atmosphere, the atmospherics are very key to this uh process.
And uh, if you get the light enough wind shear aloft, the storms can wrap around that storm center and drop the pressure, and then in turn strengthens the system.
We think this is going to be a temporary thing.
