He's a great story of rugby league and the growth of the game here in Melbourne and the opportunities now that rugby league is presenting with

Obviously, the Rebels no longer being around.

The pathway system here in Victoria is not as strong as it was.

And Hugo is a great story.

He's a great young kid.

He played really well considering the circumstances on the night, and he'll be so much better for the run.

So, yeah, we're really excited with what's happening here in Victoria.

And Hugo's...

great example of what Victoria can produce and the talent that we've got.

He's a great young man with a great family.

So it's really exciting to see Gerard and there's so many positives to look at when you think about where we're at and where the season's gone and I think that some of the young talent coming through is going to be really exciting for our fans to watch.

When you go through these periods, obviously you look to leadership and ensuring that we address the key areas of our game that we know need improvements.

But at the same time,

focus on the strengths of our game.

And through this period, whether it be through personnel with injuries or turnover of players across the summer, we've had a lot of inexperienced players in our team, particularly on one of our edges.

That's contributed, I think, to a little bit of a fall in confidence in terms of the way that we play.
