Ultimately, language really matters.

Even if this wasn't the intention behind this words, the impact of this kind of language can be incredibly damaging and very emboldening to people who don't believe in consent at all.

And also, Sarah, they knew that what they were saying could be interpreted this way.

Of course they did.

Well, because in the clip, Joanna says, no, no, no, like you're gonna that you're gonna get clipped up and get killed.

So they could see that what he said could be interpreted in this very negative way.

I think it's really fair to say that they that they are aggressive online.

They make video they've made videos about Chanel Contos, they've made videos about Hannah.

They've made videos about a lot of people who they they disagree with and really can come after them.

I also don't know if them pointing to the episode as a whole is a good defense.

So there's one clip in this episode that I want to pull out as an example of this.

They were talking about I think how ineffectual consent education is in preventing sexual assault, which I will get into in a moment.

That's factually inaccurate.

But the discussion moved into what seems to be a pretty big misunderstanding of what can constitute rape.

I want to be really clear.

Pressuring or knowingly coercing someone into having sex with you when they do not want to, that is sexual assault.

Yes.

It's so degrading.

But something I want to say is that throughout this episode, they just seem to be operating from this place and this idea that consent education is like giving people a gateway to be able to have sex, like casual sex, and that casual sex is bad and that just because you're consenting, like it's fine, you can have sex regardless of your age or your sexual health or your consequences.
