I can't fathom what it's like to, you know, grow your child inside you.

Of course, why wouldn't you want that?

If that's something you want in your life.

So this is a question that I have been stewing on for years.

And it's not just in the context of of surrogacy, but in the context of when do we think it's acceptable for women to monetize their bodies effectively?

Now, to be clear, human trafficking is real.

It's a horrific, it's it's it's abominable.

Women who are in

in extreme poverty, who are financially coerced into making these decisions, they are not making those choices freely.

And that is where intervention is obviously required and prevention is obviously required.

But I think there is an important question to ask, which is like, are there situations where it is okay for a woman to monetize her body?

Are there situations where we know that women are doing so freely, um, with full consent, without any kind of economic coercion or financial distress?

And I think the answers to those questions don't just affect surrogacy, I think they also affect things like sex work.

And so I guess a a uh just this question that I I I have and that I pose is

Are we not okay in some circumstances with allowing women to use their bodies how they want, even if that means monetizing them?
