And then her birth mother, which is also my birth mother, had moved up to Auckland, got pregnant again in 1968 and was like, oh, for God's sake.

I have spoken to her about this.
And she went out to the West Coast beaches to hide her pregnancy with me and I was born.
And then she was at a, I guess you'd call it a social worker, you know, and she's been marginalised and called a slut and, you know, her whole family kind of wasn't into her being pregnant and sent her away and all that jazz that happened in the 60s.
And she went to this guy, the social worker, and she was crying and I think she had me in her arms and she was going...
And during the interview, she goes, well, is there any way this baby could go with my other baby?
And the guy, and she thought the guy would just go, no, you shouldn't have got knocked up, you dirty hooey, you know, basically.
But he went, well, actually, and got this big ledger out because it's pre-computers, obviously.
Anything's basically stone tablets.
Yeah.
Carrier pigeon.
And he looked through and he found out where my sister Amanda had been placed in Christchurch and
rang that number then and there in front of my birth mother, Natalie, and my mum, Joyce, answered.
And it's amazing having heard this from both these women the same day, this story.
And mum said, oh, we picked up the phone.
And my sister, of course, well, me and we used to laugh at her for crying at a certain point.
