We met, and it was crazy.
She'd drive out to my place where I was living at Piha at the time, and she got out of the car and walked across the lawn, and it was like looking at myself as an older person.
Out of the four daughters that she had, her and I look really the same.
And so it was buzzy.
It was pretty out of it.
But then she's since passed away, but we had this relationship where –
We would see each other maybe once a year, and she would call on my birthday.
Actually, I think she thought my birthday was the 6th of November, but it was quite good because I had time to talk to her.
But we had a lovely relationship, and then this is quite a deep dive.
Have we got time?
Yeah.
All right.
So I ended up doing an ancestry DNA, and after our birth mother had passed away, the two half-sisters of Natalie's got in touch with me, and they were like, oh, my God, this is going to come as a huge surprise to you.
So I had to go, oh, actually, it doesn't.
Yeah, and I had to kind of mitigate –
their absolute surprise at having two older sisters, half-sisters, and kind of negotiating that total shock and their kind of resentment, a little bit of Natalie for not saying anything.
So I admit that actually it was Natalie and my decision that our relationship would be just the two of us.
So Natalie has, and location-wise it was difficult, so Natalie hasn't met Amanda, never will because she's passed away.
So it was very much a her and I relationship.
But I have met the two girls and it was pretty buzzy too, you know.
