And as for bone... Well, okay, to be fair, I suppose I could spend a long time methodically breaking every bone in your body.
Even longer than I would if I were treating an adult to the same sort of attention, considering your skeleton has yet to fully fuse together.
It's even possible that I could snap each and every one in twain without killing you.
Unlikely, yes, highly unlikely, but possible.
However, this is where we get into the whole matter of preference.
For you see, in the magics my kin and I practice, one might think of bone as symbolic of addition, a plus sign, if you will, positivity, growth, etc.
Teeth, meanwhile.
Teeth represent subtraction, because they destroy, don't they?
Once caught in their springlock trap, teeth grind matter down into fragments, pulverizing prey until it's been reduced to a delicious nothingness.
An elegant allegory, don't you think?
Teeth as warning.
Teeth as weapon.
Strong enough to exist outside their own protective flesh, yet sharp enough to rip clean through the protective flesh of others.
There is, in short, a dark power to teeth.
And in that power, a potential both preternatural and scientific.
