After that, I started bringing sage to cleanse the room.

I couldn't cleanse the whole hotel, although I definitely wanted to.

Since I started using the sage, the energy in the laundry room has felt a lot lighter.

But occasionally, on the days that someone has to work nights, it seems like the energy comes back and you can feel it in the way that your hair stands up and your heart starts beating a little faster.

I know it hasn't left, but somehow maybe we coexist.

It stays out of the laundry room and out of my way, and I leave it alone.

Every day before I close the doors for the night, I always make sure to say, good night, Casper.

It started as a way for me to set a boundary, like telling a ghost to not follow me home.

But on the days that I forget to say this, I do get nightmares.
