The next part of it really, the next bucket is governance.
And governance is a huge topic, but it really is document, well, firstly making explicit and then documenting what decision-making processes the family follows for family decisions, not business decisions, family decisions.
What gaps are there in the knowledge of some of the family members, especially where you've got next generation who are still learning?
The next bucket is succession planning, and we split succession planning into two sub-buckets, if you like.
One is succession of ownership, which is the bit that most family members understand.
Who gets what?
When do I get to take over this asset?
But the more important or equally as important part of it is succession of control.
What roles am I going to inherit?
And what roles as a matriarch or patriarch am I going to prepare my next generation for?
Because they will be the ones controlling these assets in the future.
And so it's within the succession planning umbrella where things like tax and structures and finances and understanding the investments and understanding what the family's goals are, financial goals are for the future.
That's where we cover off on all of those things.
And then we do work in then with estate planning lawyers to round everything out with, you know, wills and that whole sort of estate planning piece of work as well.

There doesn't have to be a specific event or something coming up or, you know, don't wait for a crisis to happen.
