It's a bit harder when you don't have that international salary and you're having to find a job that only does half the year because the first half of the year you're pretty much in your domestic season, so you're away from work quite a lot.
So it's a little bit harder.
I don't think anybody in the ferns at the moment have any jobs.
Maybe some contract work here or there just to take them over.
But domestically, yes, there's a lot of girls.
And that's also how the schedule for the domestic teams have to adjust to allow those players to have a job.
Because as great as it is to be playing and being paid for netball, they still need to have a life outside of netball and they still need that job.
So we need to accommodate them as well.
Yeah.
It happened really quickly.
Look, I was in my last year of school and around like June, July, I think, my uncle and aunt who live here, it's mum's cousin, they went to visit.
They've been living in New Zealand for more than 20 years now.
And we were in Cape Town one day and mum was like, right, well, my cousin's over from New Zealand.
They're at the airport at the moment.
They're literally just about to go back to New Zealand.
Let's just go say hi.
So we went to the airport, had a chat, as mums do.
You know, they boast about their kids and they mention that I play netball.
And, yeah, my uncle was like, oh, well, why don't you send her over?
Let her come stay with us for a year.
