Right, well that's I'll start off with the easy ones, then Mark can take the uh the difficult ones.
So I'm being ironic.
So intelligence, um, or certainly natural intelligence is um in my world just inference.
It's just sense making within an inactive aspect.
So there's also decision making that's predicated on that sense-making, and therefore um can be described in terms of inference or self-evidencing as Yako.
How we would like to say.
Um it's from the physicist perspective, this is a particular kind of self-organization or a particular reading of self-organization.
Um under a um
a particular partition into self and non-self or something and something else, um, that has that can be mathematically described as the Bayesian mechanics.
Um, and that Bayesian mechanics, I repeat, um, can be interpreted in terms of inferring the causes of your sensations and deciding what to do in order to solicit the right kind of sensations.
to engineer or author your own sensorium in order to make the best sense of it, in order to make the best decision.
So there's a an inherent circuit causality in this self-organization.
If you survive and you survive uh as an agent, um and for me an agent would be um a system that can be read
As possessing or acting as if it had a world or a generative model of the consequences of its own actions.
So it has a model of its own private future and it has to select particular paths into the future.
So it's a future-pointing kind of inference that is private to the individual, uh, the agent um or the intelligent artifact in question.
Consciousness um
I'm I
You should be asking Mark this.
So consciousness I think is something else, especially if you're talking about phenomenology or feelings.
