We're here to talk books, to review new fiction, and you'll be astonished to hear to have a few opinions.
So to begin, let's introduce everybody.
So BJ just won a prize for a short story in Kill Your Darlings and also with us on stage is Hannah Kent who was the co-founder of that particular literary journal.
Hannah Kent, as I'm sure you all know,
is a novelist whose books are Burial Rites, The Good People and Devotion, and her memoir, Always Home, Always Homesick, which I could not put down.
I had other books I was supposed to be finishing, but I could not look away from this beautiful memoir.

Hannah, this memoir, Always Home, Always Homesick, it takes you back to Iceland.
You're revisiting it as an idea as well as a place, I guess.
And is it a way to take apart your writing of burial rights?
And we're just going to escape into books, Jonathan.
Yes, although I actually didn't manage to read all of the Ema McBride, but I still wanted to bring it along because, now this is the Irish writer whose first novel, A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing, was published in 2013.
Her other novels are The Lesser Bohemians, which is really the book that comes before this one.
She also wrote Strange Hotel, which I remember reading for a discussion on the bookshelf.
So The City Changes Its Face is just out, but I have an agenda here.
