The idea went through and I got a call and they said, Hey, yeah, we're interested in a an A sixteen cookbook and it's like, Okay, what do you need?

And they're like, Uh, we need a proposal.

I'm like, Oh.

So what do you put in a proposal?

Did not know how to write a proposal.

I had a flip phone.

I'm writing down notes in my car and we got a proposal.

I would not be able to sell a book with that same proposal today.

I'll just say that.

But I I really do think at the time you really could you could just make these contacts and think this restaurant, there's something special going on.

Let's make a book.

And then that book got national attention.

Gourmet magazine was around.

They had a cookbook club.

That was like

the opera of like cookbooks at the time.

Food and wine was could really move the needle on book sales.

Um the the chef and Shelly Linggren, the wine director slash owner, really could move the needle on sales.

And that book did really well.

You can't duplicate what worked then now.
