It was very buzzy.
But you know, it's just a local restaurant in one city that's not in New York.
But it was starting to get uh media attention.
I left the restaurant, decided I wanted to go into writing, went to
Journalism school.
Don't do that if you haven't, if you're thinking about it, you don't need to do that.
Um, not good timing.
Um, but then um I just had this idea of like I worked at this restaurant, it has great food.
I just felt, and I think sometimes you can get a tingly sense when you know something should be a book.
And I'm sure Jenny, I'm wondering, I would love to ask you that question and Leslie too, when you get that sense of like, ooh, there's something special here.
So I went to A16 and I said, have
Ever thought about doing a book?
And they said, Well, do you know how to do a book?
It's like, no, yeah.
I can figure it out because now I'm a journalist.
I can figure it out.
I'm gonna ask all these people questions.
Um, and so that's how I started asking questions, and it lucked into an avenue with somebody who had just been hired from SF Chronicle to work at 10 speed, and she said, It's my first week on the job, but let me like pass your idea on to Aaron, who now is like
like the head of um Clarkson Potter and Ten Speed Press.
At that time he Ten Speed was an independent publisher.
