I'm not saying it wasn't, but it's likely it was just a regular way that we all can get a little bit too angry.
But you don't get that online and you don't learn and you don't learn how to do all those interactions.
And during adolescence, we're really upgrading all of that knowledge of these relationships.
And it's harder, so we withdraw.
And we used to withdraw, but we couldn't because when friends came around, you had to come out.
But they can withdraw and go on their phones.
And we say, oh, but they've got lots of friends.
They've got lots of friends and they go to their room and they're with their friends.
Now, if they've been with their friends all day, I've got no problem with that.
But often they haven't been with their friends all day.
And now they're on here.
Are they going to learn all of this non-verbal stuff?
So much of our conversations and communication is non-verbal.
Hence it was my first book.
Like I work mostly in the area of trauma and how trauma impacts.
But as soon as I thought about writing a book and what people ask me for, and when I do an adolescent presentation, I get significantly more people coming up afterwards and saying, man, that's made a difference.
That's going to help me.
So it was absolutely, that's why it was my first book because I thought it's missing.
And it's, I'm not going to say it's not hard to do, but once you get some of this information, it can make such a difference to our relationship with our kids if we can just step back and chill a little and understand the complexities of what's going on.
There's definitely similarities in there.
