Golden Hour was a title sitting in my idea list for a long time.
And in some ways, this story feels a bit like a walking towards self.
taking us through town to the older section of downtown, which I think of as old nothing.
That calls back, in fact, to Salerno again.
Vecchio Salerno, or Old Salerno, is a tiny section of the city made up of tiny alleys, framed in by buildings that have been there, some of them for thousands of years.
We don't have that an old nothing much, but we do have murals.

I had so much fun researching old cameras when I wrote this story.
I had memories of the flashbulbs and the winding wheels, but I needed to look things up to understand how they properly work.
And as I did, I wondered how many listeners would have those same memories.

Fig Granita?
Boy, I must have been missing Italy when I wrote this episode, because the only place I've ever seen fig Granita was at a tiny roadside spot up in the hills near Vietri, a tiny spot called Albadi.
I had a granita there, sitting on a stone wall, and looking down the cliffs to the Mediterranean Sea with my friend Cristina Di Florio many years ago, and I still remember it fondly.
