The people that consider themselves to be nano-influencers, a lot of the time they're stay-at-home moms posting their shopping hauls, they go to Target, they tell their followers what they buy, and they see how well that could fit in with the lives that they're already leading.

And that's basically to make sure you're a real person and you are active on social media.
One content creator, Reid Matat, who I interviewed for this story, she has been doing Club Target for a few months now.

So you do move up through the ranks and different programs pay out differently, but you're absolutely not going to make enough money doing this to have it replace a full-time job.

And they act more like celebrities, like brand ambassadors.
If you think of influencers like a pyramid with the mega influencers at the top and the nano influencers at the bottom, they're just kind of redistributing their budgets more down the bottom now.
So it's not going to cost them a lot of money to do these deals with nano influencers because the pay is so small.
But there's a chance that one of those videos could go viral.
And even if it doesn't, they're still reaching, you know, 500 followers of 500 people.
And it's regular people that are pretty good at selling, honestly.
