So a big area of focus for Wired this year and for plenty of journalists has been documenting the relationship between leaders in the tech industry and President Trump.

Some of those same leaders are people who are not thrilled about the prospect of you as mayor.

Some who live here and some who don't, right?

I think because of what you represent on a national level, that they point at that and they don't like that.

Why do you think technology leaders, and I use that a little bit as a proxy for sort of business leaders writ large, but obviously the tech industry is is the the dominant industry in this country and in this on this planet, why have they moved so far to the right?

And how do you bring them back?

So you've you've been asked plenty about ice.

You've been asked a lot about the National Guard coming into New York City.

I'm not going to dig into that with you, but but I am curious.

In the last few weeks, Apple and Google have have been on the receiving end of a lot of coverage because they have taken down several ice tracking apps, right?

So these are apps in their stores that allow individuals to

notify their communities, right, when ICE is spotted in a given neighborhood.

Uh the Trump administration, of course, was has been very vocal in their disapproval of this kind of product.

Um what do you make of that decision by these tech companies?

So Wired is ostensibly, ostensibly optimistic about the future.

That's great.

Your campaign has been very optimistic.

Um, I would argue as Wired's editor in chief that realistically optimism in this moment maybe looks a little bit different than it did a few years ago.

Optimism to me right now is maybe the National Guard doesn't invade New York City, right?

That's that's an optimistic view.
