That is the sound of Stanford University students walking out during their graduation ceremony last month and booing commencement speaker Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google.

It was one of several commencement ceremonies this spring where students took vocal and demonstrative stands against big tech, especially against the proliferation of A.I.

Students booed former Google CEO Eric Schmidt at the University of Arizona, big machine record CEO Scott Borchetta at Middle Tennessee State University, and other speakers who championed the perceived benefits or inevitability of artificial intelligence.

Organizers at Stanford say that hundreds of students walked out during graduation in June in protest of Google's contracts with the U.S.
