It wasn't a sport in Ireland.

So there's no other female boxers around.

The first night I was there, my dad looked around and had his clothes and headgear on.

I was in sparring with some of the lads.

And I always knew I had to throw a punch.

I think it was probably from maybe watching my dad shadowboxing or something around the house.

But I always knew I had to stand, I had to throw a punch.

Of course, much coaching was involved as well.

But I think that the raw natural talent was there from a young age even.

Yeah.

I mean, you had Deirdre Governey on that.

Yeah, we had Deirdre on, yeah.

And she was one of my heroes because she was the only female fighter I had.

She was someone who I looked up to.

And what an amazing person she is.

What an amazing fighter.

Imagine if she had the opportunities that I had.

But I'm actually standing on the shoulders of those people who went before me.

I would not be in the position I'm in today if it wasn't for, like, Deirdre.

I'm so grateful for her.
