Episode 272 of the Talking Bollocks podcast brought to you by Go Loud. It's me, Terry Flower. And it's me, CLB. And this week we're joined by...
It's Katie Taylor. Me, Katie Taylor.
You know what, Katie, you're moving me into the old podcast going forward.
Yeah, I don't know about that, guys. These are much better talkers than I am, so.
Katie, look, it's an absolute honour to be sitting here with you.
Likewise.
And we've been invited onto your bus while travelling around Ireland at the minute the camera man's fallen and all over the airport.
The party bus.
Yeah. It's an honour to be here. The first question I want to ask you, Katie, is Crowe Park has just been announced. Yeah. I know you're not gonna be able to put it into words, but what are you feeling?
It's just been a whirlwind of a few days, the last few days since it has been announced. I got the phone call from Brian a few days ago, my manager, and he said, all the contracts are signed, it's a done deal. I said, I can't believe this, Brian. We actually got it over the line. It's only because of Brian and Eddie and Peter Aiken, all these people involved, that they've been absolutely tenacious over the last few months in actually making this happen. This was basically in a possibility a few months ago, and here we are. I'm actually ending my career at Crowe Park, our most iconic arena. It's beyond my wildest dreams. It really is. And so it's insane.
It's amazing. It's been spoken about now for a couple of years and we were all wondering, will they ever get it over the line? You know what I mean? Now it's happening. Have you been thinking?
You were saying just beforehand, it was Ireland's worst cow secret for the last few weeks.
Everyone knew about it. Everyone was catching wind. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. But have you had a vision in your head of what it might be like to walk out in Crowe Park?
Yeah, I have, and I'm actually getting emotional even thinking about it, to be honest. This is my final walk to the ring, and I'm going to have to hold my emotions together down the actual night, but I can't wait to hear the Ole-Ole-Ole's from the crowd again one last time. I'm just so emotional, the amount of people who have supported me and spent their hard-earned money following me around the world. Seeing the tricolours around the place, Madison Square Garden in Dallas, all across the UK, and now I get the chance to see the tricolours in Crowe Park, of all places, the greatest stadium, in my opinion, in the world. it's so historic isn't it i'm gonna have to definitely uh keep my emotions together because i have a fight to fight as well i have to win this fight it's important that i obviously end my career in a high yeah yeah so we were saying earlier okay because this has been going on in the background four years yeah yeah she fought in dublin twice in 2023 yeah and i say that's down to the fact that they couldn't get this deal yeah exactly because i should have been in crow park but
Are you feeling a sense of relief now?
