generally speaking there are sometimes less options available to you because your time frame is shorter and we think about well tax consequences which can be quite fluid and actually your everyday behavior and then we understand well what is the product that will fit that be it a managed fund or a property we're not starting with well what do we invest in first which is
kind of where most people start.
It's like, well, is it Bitcoin?
Is it an investment property?
Is it managed funds?
That's actually the end of the conversation, not the start.
Yeah, absolutely.
And I think when we think about our KiwiSaver, that's a really, because we're mostly familiar with that.
And so that's a really good anchor point because when you're investing in shares, and most of my clients don't,
directly invest in companies necessarily.
Again, this is not individualized financial advice.
For the vast majority, when they're looking at investing in equities, they'll look at managed funds, which is like KiwiSaver, but less rules around it.
And when you're looking at investment types, you understand, well, how much volatility can I accept exactly like that KiwiSaver?
So
If you've bought your house and you're not going to access or have to access the investment for a very long time, you know, 10 years or more, then likely you can accept more volatility in your investment.
So likely you're more looking at a more growth fund, which will have
More dips, but over time, likely will give you a higher return.
So those are the things that you're thinking about in terms of, well, when might I need to access that money?
And how much volatility can I accept and still sleep at night?
And when we're designing plans for our clients, it's almost like when you're investing, you can split that into almost buckets.
