A lot of people don't want to write a book.
They want to be seen and heard.
So this is you telling me you have imposter syndrome?
There was no way that the joyrider was going to want to go out with me if he thought that I was a bookish girl.
I just don't think we can do it all.
Whenever have I ever been on your podcast before?
There you go.
It is.
I think this last, say, six months or so, especially since Hungry came out, I'm leaning into the idea that I'm an author a lot more than I did before.
It's kind of a bit up its own arse, I think.
Sorry, but like...
When you're in the author gang as well, like they talk about being authors and there's like layers of what's a good author, what's a good book genre as well.
So there's a lot of kind of hidden judgment about the type of author that you are.
But I am an author and I am a good one.
especially with Hungry I love that people like the story but I what I love more is when people say I really like the way you write that for me confirms to me that I am an author and I'm a good writer so yeah I'm leaning into it more and I'm writing another book and I've written a kid's book and that is coming out next year I'm so excited about the kid's book I really I'm so proud of it
But like I was writing that in my head for two years.
So when it comes to actually writing it, it flows because it's there.
So I got on a plane and then I was like, oh, I have it.
And literally an hour of the plane journey, I had the whole book written.
