As regards the future of the players, we've read a lot about
you know, are players like Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling going to stick around if they're not going to be playing Champions League football for two years?
These are the, you know, the best years of their careers.
They're at their prime.
Surely they'll want to leave.
Well, that's easier said than none.
These guys are some of the highest paid players in the world and they have contracts with Manchester City and A, there's no suggestion that they want to break those contracts and B, um,
I'm not sure many other clubs in the world could afford to sign them or could afford to pay them.
So I think it's a bit of a red herring.
We've already heard from Pep Guardiola that he's staying.
He's going to be the City manager next season.
And I would find it very difficult to believe that any players would be allowed to leave Manchester City this summer unless City wanted to sell them.
Well, this is where it gets very interesting, of course, because people are now thinking that, hey, maybe finishing fifth will be enough to get us into the Champions League.
I was at Stamford Bridge this week where we spoke to Frank Lampard of the Manchester United game about whether he was thinking at all about fifth place.
And I think he is like a lot of other managers.
They're not thinking about that at all.
All they're focused on is winning.
uh finishing in fourth place I think there's a kind of feeling within football that Manchester City are going to have this ban overturned and I don't think there's too many people you know banking on finishing fifth being enough to get into the Champions League next season of course we'll have to wait and see what happens but you know from a footballing point of view yes you know it's
