Another string of unsuitable parental figures in her life.
And Blind Johnny was really known to traffic drugs in the area.
And it had been alleged, according to multiple sources, that Blind Johnny and several of his friends were abusing Teresa.
One of Johnny's many questionable friends was Skip Welch.
And that is how Skip got close to Teresa.
He was a man with a reputation, he was known to be addicted to meth.
His wife had actually died.
Died from an overdose.
And he was also known to be very predatory to teenage girls, as obviously Johnny is too.
The previous summer, Skip had invited a 17-year-old girl named Michelle on a camping trip in the mountains.
Skip's own daughter warned Michelle to not go with him, explaining that her father had a habit of luring young women into the mountains, plying them with drugs and taking advantage of them.
Michelle would tell police that, you know, even though she had this warning, she did go anyways.
But she made sure that it wasn't just her and Skip on this trip.
She actually brought along two guy friends.
And while she made it back to civilization safely, she believed that she had been drugged on her time in the mountains with Skip.
So Skip took drugs and gave them to young girls.
Blind Johnny sold drugs.
So it wasn't really hard for police to see the connection between these two.
