Like I wouldn't be able to afford it.

I don't come from a household where my mom and dad can afford to keep my lifestyle plus, you know, the training fees and like the race suits that we wear between 800 to a thousand dollars.

Yeah, and if you put a hole in it, like that's done.

So it's supposed to be a cheap sport, but it's not.

But like I said, I'm super fortunate that I'm sponsored by Speedo.

You know, I'm not forking out $1,000 every time I need a new race suit.

I wear, what, four or five in a week of an Olympic stance.

That's five grand already.

And, you know, we don't get a lot to show for it.

Yeah, absolutely.

And I think

something along the line it does need to change or whether or not, you know, Swimming Australia gets more sponsors and isn't just so reliant on Gina Reinhart or Mrs. Reinhart, I should say.

So if she decides to, you know, pull the towel from underneath us, I think a lot of Australian athletes at my level and higher would probably not even be able to do it.

Yeah, I think there's always examples like the US, I don't know what their athletes get paid, but even just the way that they put on their trials, like they fill the stadium where we can't even fill 50%.

So it's crazy to even think that, that we, as soon as a,

bringing in the most medals from the Olympic Games and at the highest level, but we're still not getting the recognition for it and whether or not that's because there's so many of us and we have so many events that we can win medals in.

It's also like you look at athletics, the amount of people that they get to fill a stadium within Australia, it's completely different to swimming.

I don't know what we do.

wrong, necessarily, to, you know, not have that same atmosphere.

But we are dying for it.
