And, you know, we talked to coaches.
I remember I heard the comment.
Someone told me, oh, that doesn't exist anymore.
And I was like, really?
Because they never announced anything about the program ending at all.
And so I spoke to the league about it and the VP who used to have diversity in his title and no longer does.
His title is now like league leadership or something super vague.
Diversity is no longer part of his title.
He said, oh, well, we didn't end the program.
We just stopped funding it and it's no longer required.
And I said, okay, so then the program itself doesn't exist.
It's not a program.
If it's not required and you're not funding it, then what is it?
And so he tried to say that they ended it because it was only meant to like spur this action in teams.
And he felt that teams were in a good place with it.
But when I talked to coaches who had been part of it, I talked to one coach who is currently an offensive assistant for a club in the NFL, and he was intended to work in the quarterback room.
And that was kind of the purpose of this mandate was to get minority coaches qualified
close to the quarterbacks, close to offensive game planning to the key positions on offense, which would be offensive line and quarterback and close to the offensive coordinator.
And this coach told me he was intended to be in the quarterback room.
And then they moved him to a different, less important offensive position because it was determined among the team.
