I had a manuscript that didn't quite get the offers we wanted.

That we I did have some offers for it, but they wanted, you know, the next three books and you know, for an amount that wouldn't pay my groceries for a year.

And it was, I was like, no, I'm not prepared to put something out and to be tied up like that.

So in discussion with my agent, we put it to one side.

And then a few probably about a year ago, we we talked about what we could do with it, and she hadn't given up on it.

And my agent here hadn't given had

Had read it and didn't want to give up on it.

So it is going to come out and I can't really say too much more about it.

It's a different format, but I'm really excited.

And what happened was I'd actually originally set it in Canada and the people who bought it were like, oh, could we have it a bit closer to home?

So I went and I thought about the setting, and it's quite a watery lake-side setting.

And so I rewrote the whole manuscript and set it in New Zealand, which wasn't as hard as it sounds, believe it or not.

And I went to New Zealand and did a research.

trip, although I knew the area where I could set it and I had been there a couple of times, I wanted to go back and really make sure I got it right.

So that was kind of fun and it it just shows you that nothing's ever wasted.

And yeah, don't give up on a story if you believe in it and your agents believe in it.

It can take years for it to find the right home and the right format and so on and so forth.

So that's really been quite nice.

And then now I'm writing another manuscript that I'm quite behind on.

But is set really in northern New South Wales where I live, which is the first time I've done that.
