He's a power play specialist, which I know we talk a lot about, you know, oh, he doesn't have as good 5v5 numbers, but I also think it's valuable to be converting on the power play, right?
Seriously, there's such a connotation that's really good at 5v5, but if you're converting on the power plays, and he had 7.23 points per 60 last year on the power play, led the Ottawa Senators, top 10 mark in the NHL, he's going to be at 29 years old when the new deal starts, so you worry about that.
If he wants to stay there and he's a player who's almost a point for game player and you lost your best winger, you need a guy.
If you're in a compete now window, they have two great contracts with Jake Sanderson and with Tim Stutzla.
You're not going to just throw that away.
That's the point though, Jeff, right?
It's like, if they have these really good contracts and these really good players, you're not going to bottom out.
You're not going to tank.
You need to try and build for the future.
And they did that.
They signaled that by their trade with William Eklund for ninth overall, right?
They got a winger who's cost controlled for the next three seasons and then his RFA eligibility after that.
But you pair that with Drake Batherson and then Tim Stutzel on that top line.
That's a really good top line.
And that's a, you know,
it's a tough Atlantic division, but Otto was in a good position.
