The reason we have a saying, the customer's always right, is because in order for producers to get our scarce dollars, they have to first meet our consumer demand.
That's why most companies try to build products and services and distribute them to as many people as possible.
This is how Amazon gets wealthy.
Walmart, that's how Red Robin and an Outburger, it's how Cornelius Vanderbilt got so wealthy by lowering the cost of steamship travel.
making it accessible to the average person.
It's how Henry Ford got so much money by making the Model T cost less than his competitors.
It's how Rockefeller made money by lowering the cost of oil.
Andrew Carnegie did this with steel.
The democratic socialists, when these things are privatized under the greedy profit incentive, have no explanation for why these things go down in price and larger numbers of people over time are able to accumulate them.
So by not only lying about that it's free, but by taking away the producers' focus on consumers, where their money comes from, and now they're getting paid by the politicians.
So now the producers answer to Congress and try to make Congress happy instead of the consumers.
So we would naturally expect there to be lower quality and higher prices than they otherwise would when producers are primarily focused on pleasing Congress and regulators rather than pleasing consumers because they will please whoever is giving them the money.
That is the principled reason for why more socialism leads to lower quality and higher prices than it otherwise would.
One of the differences that I see between myself and democratic socialists, it's sort of like the root issue, is someone like myself who is on the right, who believes in the constrained division.
I believe that human beings are inherently self-interested.
So when I see that there are profitable opportunities –
to make profits off food, housing, health care, books, computers, microphones.
I say, oh, that's a really good thing because people are self-interested.
They want the money.
They're going to have an incentive to produce those, not just in a small quantity, but in a large quantity because people want more money than
