General rule for me. as someone who doesn't follow the draft or the prospects, if I have a high pick, I don't want to draft a center, just general rule. I think center is the easiest position to find in the NBA. I think there's always a guy out there who's just solid. And, you know, so I'm like, all right, we have a top 10 pick. Probably let's go upside here. And then they went for Zach Eadie.

So I'm like, okay, maybe this will work. They clearly they've drafted great for years. That's their big advantage. It seems like is they're really good at the draft. make no trades to improve your roster, then when you get to the trade deadline to actually salary dump guys, and it's like, oh, all we're doing is getting another luxury tax slash creating possible avenues to extend and re-sign Jaren before he hits free agency, and that's been the entire focus as opposed to actually trying to improve for this year. And then you just watch the NBA night tonight and in the loss to the Thunder and then in the win against the Jazz that they recently had, like Jay Huff, is more important in the Grizzlies rotation right now than Zach Eadie. Jay Huff is the guy they saw play at Summer League and signed him to do a two-way deal and then promoted him.

And to me, that just proves, like, you can find a center anywhere, so I don't love it. So, I mean, maybe Zach Eadie He might turn out to be a really good starting-level NBA center. He might have a career that parallels like a Jonas Valanciunas. But the way the NBA is now where spacing is so important and you want to have everyone who can shoot at all times. I mean, at least Taylor Jenkins did.
