For Baugh, it's a joke.
He's just having fun.
But in doing so, he's touched on something that all humans want to do.
We all want to build a kingdom of me, a kingdom in which we are king or queen.
Over our own lives.
Every human being has a relentless belief that my life is about me, my life is for me.
It's a kingdom built on meeting your needs, seeking your comforts, achieving your goals, fulfilling your dreams.
If you want to rule over your own life, if you want to do your own thing, if you like calling the shots for yourself, if you don't like being told what to do, then you're going to find that Jesus is a threat.
Right.
That's because Jesus is the true king, the real king.
He's God's Messiah.
He's God's anointed king who rules over all things, including your life.
We're in John 19 today, and we're reading about Jesus' appearance before Pontius Pilate.
We will see Jesus' kingship here on full display.
